This is perfect for some isolated combustion engine pop sounds for an idea I'm working on, really hard to find these without any surrounding noise usually.

No, I never use the windscreen that came with it, I use some kind of selfmade fuzzy bag if necessary, but not in this recording, since it was in a barn. I always try to record at as high as possible level, if possible on the low mic gain setting. When recording very loud or very dynamic sounds, the recording level has to be accordingly low. In these cases I compress the recording afterwards to make it sound like my ears heard it.

Finally! Someone with an R-05! Yay! Did you have the windscreen that came with it on? Just curious. Also what level did you record it on, and what attenuation did you have it at?
