You do come out with some wonderful nature recordings! I second Klankbeeld's comment about flac compression. I have gone over to that for all my own sound files, and convert all downloaded ones to that format.

What a beauty..
You complain about the 1Gbyte max. I did to, but...
Why don't you use flac-compression (without any lost)? It gives about 75% reduction and better than mp3.
It's my alternative for my long recordings now. I'm glad with it.
