Masons are recorded here in the act of restoring the bright red sandstone stonework of Jodha Bai's palace in the ancient abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri (1570), Uttar Pradesh, India

A UNESCO World Heritage site, the city was abandoned around 1585 due to a general lack of available water in the area.
