Mono recording of dot matrix impact printer kx-p1080 printing on paper, includes manual feeding of paper and paper eject. Recorded using Audacity via Genius Mic 01A connected to computer at 44100Hz, 32-bit float. Microphone placed in between print head and driving servo.
Recording quality is subnormal (distant, high noise) due to inappropriate microphone used. There is some clipping when the print head prints due to the large volume difference between the print head and servo; attempts to lower microphone gain to eliminate clipping caused servo to be almost inaudible.

I remember when I was a kid I used to fall asleep on the floor by my fathers matrix printer doing long stretches of spitting out the needed data for the yearly tax declaration. Very fond of this memory, and it is still a beautiful sound.
So thanks for this one - I hope you do one with a better suited microphone later!
