Here you have a pack of experimental wakeup alarms I made to gently start my day.

The idea is to make a simple sound fade in very softly (the fade-in is 25 minutes long!) from faint and unaudible to full-power tone. And let the subject wake up when the volume crosses a certain level.

3 kHz was picked because it's a tone well percepted by human ear with great dynamic range, and also well reproduced by most mobile phone speakers. Also - the tone is very penetrable, yet not painful (at least at a reasonable volume level).
