Poetry Pack - poems written and read by Nicholas The Octopus Camarena

me saying my poem "Ode to the pen"

Backbone on the poem. It has a double meaning. It's speaking about the truth that we are all unfortunately built with this mechanism of wanting something new and different. A natural instinct to tire of something. Whether that hits a year, a day, four years, twelve years into a relationship between two people, it will eventually hit. The saddest thing is when you tire of a human being for another one. But, it's also the most natural of our human instincts. Without that mechanism inside of us – our evolution would have not occurred. We went from stone, to ink, to feather, to pen, to paper, to radio, to 8-tracks, to tape, to cd, to DVD, to bulk screen, to flat screens to streaming. All we do as people is cheat on the next one.
