I recently discovered that my department at the University of Miami has a Tascam DA-P1 DAT recorded and an Audio-Technica AT825 mic that I can check out and use for whatever I want. So I just went out to a busy street, in this case west 88th, and started recording the traffic. But after only 3 minutes, the battery died (which I had just fully charged before I left!), so I'm afraid the battery may be shot.
