recorded in the summer of 1992 in a small village in SW Turkey called Patara...this is the first 'ezan' (call to prayer) of the day at dawn (about 5am)...muezzin (the men who recite the ezan) now use microphones...but despite a chorus of crickets the quality here is not obscured by traffic or other human noise...I used a portable Sony DAT recorder...
