Rings of Saturn

Sound created from using the rings of Saturn as a spectral source to a series of filters. When a 1 pixel high image of the rings is extracted it looks like a spectrogram (original: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Saturn%27s_rings_dark_side_mosaic.jpg).

A gray-scale image was created from the spectrogram. The Saturn spectrogram was directly translated into sound by 1024 resonant filters. The x-axis of the spectrogram indicated frequency, while the light intensity indicated amplitude.

The resonant filter unit was driven with ludicrously high resonance value of one million for accurate reproduction. A spectrogram created from the sound resembles the original at very high confidence.

This is how Saturn rings would sound if they were directly translated into sound as a spectrogram. The stereo image consists of 1024 steps, where each filter provides it's frequency. It's expected that it's tilted left when listening, because major part of the high frequencies are inaudible for casual listener.
