I visited the Tams Tams with Santosh Lalonde and some other folks and we took our field recording gear each and walked around the Tams. I would stand and listen for an extended sequence, then move to a different spot, then another. Occasionally crossing others with one of the other people recording in the same way. Santosh planed to take them all and use them to mix something with shifting perspectives of the same space.
I started recording about 60 meters from the statue and you hear us talking as we fan out, and the drums get louder. I stood in front of the main tams at the base of the tower facing north east [Montreal east] and then moved first to the left. I shifted around there and to the right before walking west about 30 meters to a smaller tam tam circle, and around them taking up a few positions for intervals.
