The recorder was placed about 2 metres from where the waves were breaking on a calm, quiet day. You can hear gentle waves, birds in the trees behind, boat masts clanking (sounds like bells) and the distant hum of the docks. About halfway through the recording the wash from a passing ship lands and the waves suddenly get stronger and louder.
