The sound of Southampton Water at around 5am on a Bank Holiday Monday (National holiday). The microphone was placed right at the shoreline where the water meets the land. There are distant boats/ships, the oil refinery and a few sea birds. The wind was about 2 to 4 mph and that created some very small waves that can be heard lapping against the shore.

My start up, House of Self, won a grant award from UpWork over the pandemic and with that, we are creating a series of online courses to help people mitigate the stress and anxiety of the pandemic. One of our animations in the course is of a boat at sea, with birds flying over head. It's a simple animation, meant to calm and relax people as they listen to the voice over explain the content of the lesson. We'd love to use this in the background of that video and felt especially connected to it as we are heavily involved (partly from) Southampton :) It was meant to be. Thank you for your recording. Would love to share the final piece with you. Hope you are well during this time, all the best. Emma
