Playing a samba rhythm - actually the part of the surdo, the bass drum in Brazilian samba baterias - on a sphere shaped glas vase, tapping with one hand on the outer surface, with the other on the opening, thus producing a low tone, which resembles the tone produced by an udu. The udu is an African drum originated by the Igbo and Hausa peoples of Nigeria, normally built of clay. Vivanco EM35, Marantz PMD671.
