The sound of a heavy impact with the earth followed by falling debris.
Constructed in LIVE!
I used a reversed kick drum, pitched and automated for the pre impact sound and four different kick drums filtered and trimmed to create the impact. Made the falling dirt and debris sound from a clap, bongo, finger snap, cabasa, shaker, guiro and conga hits put through LIVE!’s Erosion plug in and then a grain delay.
Created for the "Earth Wind Fire Water competition".

Really great, just the right amount of weight for a shard of rock impacting into the Earth, even down to the soil falling back around it afterwards, very nicely done, Im going to try it in Episode 10 of Ad Astral The Shard of Ghazbrid due out around 1.11.2010. Credits will be in the shownotes.
Many thanks.
