I needed a very specific punch in the face and couldn't find it in my archive or in the Freesound archive (which is almost the same thing). So I took my recording device (phone) and punched some people in the face while recording at the same time. It's not easy. Just kidding. I slapped my hand on different surfaces, eliminated some high frequencies, added some clapping and wind noise and the last of the three was exactly what I needed. It took about an hour and I wonder why I didn't have enough time! :)
