One of the recordings I made in the park today. The main sights here are the bells from the nearby Church of All Saints, located on the territory of the Novo-Tikhvin Monastery. Great tits, magpies and crows also sang along to the bells. In the distance, the voices and laughter of children playing on the playground can be heard. Unfortunately, there were some random passers-by walking through the crisp snow, which was in abundance this year. Background muffled city noise. The violent emotional reaction of the crows at the end was very appropriate and was instead an ovation.
Recorded March 14 , 2026 on Tascam DR-05x, with post processing.
Location: Ekaterinburg City (Russia), Green Grove Park.

Yes, I've heard your carillon recordings and those of other freesounders. And I found a lot of interesting recordings.
Just for reference, if anyone is interested. The culture of Orthodox bell ringing probably has nothing to do with the carillon. There is no adaptation to the evenly-tempered system, there is no keyboard like in a carillon (accordingly, the playing technique is completely different), and this is not a secular culture, but only a religious one. In this culture, all compositions of this kind that you can hear anywhere are collectively called "ZVONY", and they are only church canonical. Each composition has a specific meaning and is performed according to its intended meaning, on holidays, on days of mourning, and more.
Here you can look at it more closely:

Wow, amazing atmosphere !
And, indeed, the reaction of the crows at the end was perfectly appropriate.
Thank you very much for sharing this wonderful recording !

What a lovely way to play the carillon. It’s very different from how we do it.
