This audio recording was made in the summer of 2021 and is part of a series of recordings made at night on the veranda of my country house, during a very severe thunderstorm. This part is when the thunderstorm starts to move away and it gets weaker. I have already posted the most interesting part, and it can be found here (I will post a version of this entry with new post-processing in the near future): https://freesound.org/people/newlocknew/sounds/580440/ But the part that I posted here, although less interesting in general, is processed with more developed methods of dynamic (and not only) post-processing, which, I think, reveal the potential of this kind of recordings much better than earlier experiments.
According to my remaining memories, I can say that this thunderstorm was the most vivid experience of recording thunderstorms in my life. In some places, it was quite scary to be there (even under a canopy), since recording thunderstorms in an open area can be quite dangerous in itself. Very close flashes of lightning are vivid evidence of this. Since then, a cottage on the next street has completely burned down due to a thunderstorm (lightning strike). I hope you find this recording interesting.
Recorded July 03 , 2021 on Tascam DR-05x, with post processing.
Location: near the city of Ekaterinburg (Russia).

There are so many recordings of thunder.
Not many of them are captured well.
This is one of the few that excels.
It also takes the time it needs to build the scene.
Wonderful.
5* because I can't give it more.

Spectacular thunderstorm with tremendous strikes nearby. As if naughty boys were kicking steel bins.
