Just a note, the sounds NebulousFlynn has compiled here are great, and I am in no way trying to detract from his contribution. I'm simply trying to nudge indie game developers in the right direction. :) Cheers!

As the description states, these sounds were created using CFXR which is a free Mac program, that is a port of the original free program SFXR. If you are making a game, I strongly suggest you pick up this great program and make your own sounds. Very easy to use, saves to wav files, has loads of presets and randomizing options, and it is likely that you don't want the extra effects that this recording has on the sounds. The program is 100% free, safe, and I have been using it for years. There is even the source code, plus a debian and netbsd version.
