I was honored to be able to use the real item in the military-ish theme my company had at a dinner party. The alarm worked great and at least with me, it was a hit!

Used this in a live audio play at Bielefeld University (Germany). We did a short version of "20.000 leagues under the sea". We needed an alarm for the Nautilus. :)
