Very cleansing and sobering sound. I can see why this is so appropriate for Lent - time of self-purification, prayer, fasting, almsgiving, striving to be closer to God and working towards attainment of Heaven. Jesus spent 40 days in the desertion prayer and fasting in preparation for His public ministry. During Lent we are called to do the same: practise self denial, penance, do works of charity- helping one's neighbour, reflect on God's love for us which is manifested most explicitly in His passion and death for us. It is a penitential season that focuses on the passion and death of Christ.
It is truly admirable that Polish people have still retained this noble, healthy spirit - to the benefit of their souls. Many thanks.
