this recording was made on a winter camping trip to smarts mtn (white mtns, new hampshire) in february
2006. i dangled the mic just above water level at a creek that was
rushing past under several layers of ice, which created a resonating
chamber for the water. the water is loud and fast with several distinct
layers of tonality. there is a lapping sound, a low growl, a higher
almost ripping sound - additively it approaches a sort of variable
white noise. stereo recording: sony ecm-ds70p -> minidisc.
