A nightime recording of young kids playing, fairly late at night, at a neighborhood park in a small Illinois town.
The genuine sound of the kids, with not a care in the world and only enjoying the moment, echos all around the mostly sleeping houses. I really love this soundscape because it brings me back instantly to my own childhood; a childhood from a real place many miles from where I live now. I can listen to this and all of my adult troubles of today, literally melt away.
This was recorded with a Marantz PMD 661 using a highly directional, Sennheiser MKH 8070.
Recorded on Saturday night, October 4 2025 at 8:45PM at night.

Thanks very much for the feedback! I have thoroughly been enjoying your recent soundscapes with the boat going under the arch.

Indeed, a beautiful ambiance—and yes, an unexpected moment to hear children at such a late hour. I truly enjoyed your sound recording. 5*
