This is the wonderful song of the Wood Thrush which arrives every Summer to the woods of Illinois to feast on the plentiful insects and raise a family. They are very, VERY elusive and will not let you easily see them. But, their beautiful song, a soundscape of summer, more than makes up for their shyness. This Wood Thrush, fortunately for me, was staying in one place in some deep, moist woods bordering a small lake so all I had to do was set up my recording equipment and enjoy the show.
Hope you enjoy this soundscape of one of the most melodic bird-song in North and Central America.
