The pleasant trilling of the pretty Chipping Sparrow ( Spizella-passerina) recorded on Sunday May 18, 2025 in a small town in Illinois. I've always enjoyed hearing the trill of this pretty bird. Since they are migratory, they are not around in Illinois during winter, so it is very good to be hearing them once again.
I've always thought the gentle trilling of the Chipping Sparrows sounds a bit like a high-pitched sewing machine.
