It is a warm spring afternoon at Cholsey Station in the Thames Valley. Amongst the spring birdsong the sounds of an approaching Steam Engine are carried on the light breeze. Appearing round the bend leading to the Wallingford Branch is a 1953 Peckett 0-4-0 saddle tank steam locomotive 'Northern Gas Board No.1' its wheels squealing as it coasts into the bay Platform. A Cross Country Voyager speeds past towards London Paddington with a train from Birmingham. Station staff chat as No.1 is uncoupled from it's coaches. A horn is heard and a First Great Western Class 165 Turbo rushes through towards Didcot Parkway. The gates are heard being unlocked to enable access to the points. The Engine is heard reversing and a warning is given from the Station Master of another approaching Turbo. As it runs in to the platform, No.1 is buffered up to its coaches and coupled up. The Turbo departs and the fire is attended to and carriage doors closed. The Guard gives the right away and No.1 heads back down the 'Bunk' towards Wallingford.
