About the picture
The image shows an open heathland landscape with dry, pale yellow grass in the foreground. Among the grass are low shrubs and scattered heather plants, partly in the shade. In the centre of the photograph, the vegetation is denser and greener, with young heather and low copses forming a transition to the forest beyond.
The background consists of a continuous row of dark trees marking the horizon.
The sky is clear blue and cloudless.
The terrain is predominantly flat with gentle slopes, typical of the heathland and drifting sand area of the Loonse and Drunense Dunes.
