On this cold, windy winter day, dry leaves roll across the street. There is some traffic passing through the residential area and far. #1:59 A woman on high heels. The city centre, from where the music drifts, is 3.5 kilometres away.
The far music comes from 'Serious Request'. It is an annual charity broadcast in the week before Christmas by Dutch public radio, which was held in our city this year. Three DJs are locked up in the 'glass house' during that week to broadcast on the radio. This year, a record amount of 18 million euros was raised for research into muscular diseases in children.

About the picture
This photograph captures a serene winter evening view from the Kruiskamp neighborhood in 's-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. In the foreground, rows of residential buildings line quiet streets illuminated by warm, amber streetlights. The rooftops and facades reflect the soft glow of the lamps, creating a cozy atmosphere typical of a calm winter night.
In the distance, the city center rises with more prominent structures. A striking feature is the brightly lit Ferris wheel on the Parade, its circular shape glowing with white and blue lights, standing out against the darker surroundings. Just beside it, the majestic silhouette of St. John's Cathedral (Sint-Janskathedraal) is visible, its Gothic spires and dome subtly outlined by ambient lighting.
Above the city, the sky is overcast, casting a muted gray tone that enhances the contrast between the warm residential lights and the vibrant city center. Beams of blue light shoot upward from markt square area area, adding a festive and dramatic touch to the skyline.
