Urban sounds drifting over a hidden stream beneath the calm city streets.
The recording explained
It is a quiet autumn evening in the city center of 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. You hear the sounds that drift above the small vaulted stream called the Binnendieze. The walls lining the water are steep, and the stream is narrow—just like the alleyways where I stand. #0:04 Someone slams a garage door shut and enters the house. Jackdaws are still flying around in the twilight. Robins also give short calls. #2:31 A person shouts something. #3:30 Briefly, the chimes of a carillon. #5:24 A woman wants to ask something. #5:43 More doors being slammed shut. #6:36 A man coughs.
A peaceful calm prevails here.
Photo Description Evening View of the Verwersstroom in ’s-Hertogenbosch
This atmospheric photo captures the Verwersstroom, a distinctive waterway that forms part of the Binnendieze, winding its way between historic buildings in the heart of ’s-Hertogenbosch.
The water flows gently between two old brick buildings, beautifully reflecting the warm lights and architectural details.
At the end of the canal, a tourist boat is seen passing under a vaulted archway. The soft glow from the boat’s lights illuminates the tunnel, giving the scene a magical, almost fairytale-like quality.
The surrounding buildings feature classic windows and balconies, radiating the rich history of the city.
The sky is a deep twilight blue, typical of the “blue hour,” and contrasts elegantly with the warm tones of the artificial lighting.
