WIND and STORM 2025 pack3

Storm around building in Buitenhaven (the Outer Harbor) of Vlissingen.
A southwesterly wind is blowing at a maximum speed of up to 70 km/h on this sunny day. The wind howls around the steel building that houses restaurant De Punt. No waves can be heard because it is low tide, and the harbor is protected by a breakwater in the river Scheldt.

About the picture A sunny day The water remains remarkably calm.
This breakwater, visible as a paved path along the waterfront, plays a vital role in the harbor’s infrastructure.
Wooden piers and docks extend into the greenish-blue water, seemingly quiet but contributing to the harbor’s nautical atmosphere. On the left side of the image, cranes and industrial buildings rise up — silent witnesses to the daily activity that defines this working harbor. A red-and-white sign on one of the piers provides you from walking there.
The sky is mostly clear, with a few scattered clouds softening the sunlight. The contrast between the calm water and the forceful wind makes this place special: a harbor where nature and human ingenuity exist in careful balance.
