Calm hot summer drifting sand with mixed forest and wind in van Gogh Nationaal Park, Netherlands..
Can you capture the silence and the heat? I made an attempt.
It is noon and scorching hot (30ºc) in Van Gogh National Park on the edge of the sand drifts of De Loonse en Drunense Duinen.
In order not to burn alive, or dry out, I am hidden under a small but ancient bent oak tree on a small dune where just a little breeze could be found.
Actually, in this deafening silence, you only hear some insects, a chiffchaff calling for its mother and a few finches hidden in the woods.
After an hour it became too hot for me anyway and I went back home. I didn't feel like turning into a mummy.
