Calm hot summer drifting sand with mixed forest and wind in van Gogh Nationaal Park, Netherlands..
General; This afternoon it will be sunny and dry. It will be about 32°C in the south. The wind blows from the east and is weak to moderate.
A fine temperature to sit in the scorching hot sand drifts of the Loonse and Drunense dunes for an hour of silence. Microphones and I under a wise old oak tree.
The sand is so hot it burns you. Under this tree it blows as you should and my back, after a short walk, can dry to the wind.
The old oak trees in the photo grow after a half-meter slant to the east because the strong winds here usually come from the west. The soil on which the trees grow is poor. The at least 100 year old trees are no thicker than 30cm and only 4 meters high, or better said askew.
Except for the Common Chaffinch, few birds make themselves heard in this warm weather.
