🧒🏽🧒🏻 Heathland with Dutch kids in May visit klankbeeld.
Location; Van Gogh Nationaal Park, National Park Loonse en Drunense Duinen.
Then I have just carefully picked a sheltered spot to take in the silence of the sand drifts comes a whole school puddle storming into the dunes.
At such a moment you can do two things. Get annoyed or let it wash over you and move with what is coming. Well I can tell you, they had quickly spotted my microphone, which at first they thought was a barbicue. And yes, there came the flock. A bit cautious at first, but when I beckoned they came to listen🎧 .
As befits a child, they immediately went into experimentation and humour mode. They quickly went to fetch their classmates.
I give the school teacher the information where she can find the recording later. I wonder if she will create an account and comment.
Meanwhile, the children continue experimenting. The limiter was no luxury.
My brief lessons on the cockchafer actually fall right into the sand. The info is taken for granted.
Screaming and shouting is much more fun. But listening to the children talking in the distance is also a fun sensation for them.
Over time, they go back. Moments later, the whole class walks by on their way to the lodge. #38:30 Kindly they wave and sing a song to me.
Slowly the children's voices die out. The kids / youngsters made my whole day again.
I can finaly start recording now 😉 .
