Sunrise (in half an hour) over the fields of the village Lage-Zwaluwe in the Netherlands.

Most people and animals in the village are still asleep on this Friday morning in August. Here, at the edge of village and farmland, you can already hear the first animals. Even mosquitoes can be heard.

Just beyond (500m) is the large river delta of the Netherlands. The rivers Amer, Nieuwe Merwede and Hollands Diep meet here and enclose De Biesbosch National Park.

To the right is a small farm. Behind me the village. In front of me the rivers and on the left the quiet marina with a closed café.

The monotonous sound is of distant barges crawling slowly towards Germany and the far A16 highway on 5 km. The first high altitude planes.
