City park morning in February. Birds in grove of shrubs and trees on the water edge of a small lake Engelermeer near ‘s-Hertogenbosch in the Netherlands.
Now that there is another beautiful day with not too much wind, I went to and tucked away spot by wet water. You can smell a mixture of fresh water, rotting leaves and reeds here. A kind of forest air hangs here.
Coots dive and swim by behind the reeds. Since I don't move, they still haven't seen me after an hour.
They are busy building a nest, it seems. In fact, I see them passing by with twigs and reeds.
Occasionally, geese fly over. For a moment, I heard a Buzzard overhead. There are about six or so in this area.
Beavers have also been occurring in this area for some time. The picture shows the gnawed-off tree stump sticking out of the ground to the left of the microphone.
Nobody comes to this spot because he has to cross a muddy path with boots. Besides, most people are working.
Close by are only some local polder roads. Behind me is the village of Engelen. Straight ahead is the Haverleij, modern flats in fake castles. You have a view of the River Meuse there. I don't.
On the left about 2 km away is the city of 's-Hertogenbosch with the A2 motorway, but you don't hear much of that.

I love it! Thanx my friend, I haven't been on here much in 10 years, but maybe I'll stay around a bit more now that I'm retired.
