Park/forest with voices ambiance on Sundays. Close to the village of Giersbergen in the Netherlands. This area is called the Loonse en Drunense Duinen.
The wind is blowing a little.
Curious children see me sitting in the forest. Together with mother, they come to listen on the monitor headphones. Only the little brother doesn't. He is shy and stays close to mother. I tell them about the animals here. They hear the Buzzard and imitate him. They tell me they also heard woodpeckers and robins during their walk in the woods. I imitate the call of a Green Woodpecker.
A little later, another family passes by with a soccer ball. These are not paying attention to nature. They have been in the woods for three minutes now and mother is already acting stressed. This is very different from the listening family of mine.
The children walk on past the microphones and give thanks for listening. Mother continues to teach. Slowly they disappear from earshot and it's the birds' turn again.
Later, a group of Sunday morning sporting men approaches, not exactly quietly, on their mountain bikes. They will be telling each other a lot along the way about the past work week.

After writing my first comment, I thought, maybe the wood only is damped in my head? Maybe the woods offers more "reverb" than I hear in my head...
I guess I have to make some recordings my self. But all I got is an zoom H1. I should perform a walk. First a recording at home. Second, entering the forest. Third, in the forest. All recording with the same settings.
Where I live there will always be some sort of noise to record.

"It does indeed echo in this forest because there are 20-meter-high dunes behind me. There has been a lot of logging in the forest. The reason there are so many sounds is that it is a small nature reserve (by Swedish standards) where many people come.
I look forward to those beautiful sound recordings of yours in your forests."

The voices are like reverbed... You must be in a clearing? Is there some rock near the recording spot? There are so much sounds. So different from waking out in the Swedish woods. They are damped. You get hugged by the nature. Have to search for some good park/wood-recordings from Sweden...
