Live winter story in sound. Ambient recording at the Maas/Meuse river floodplains in Netherlands.

Hundreds of Graylag Geese reside in the flooded floodplain of the river. They have beautiful little islands here that rise just above the water. The floodplain is flooded, but I made my way with boots on, wading, to a dry spot, as far as possible from the other people also coming to enjoy this lovely winter day at the water's edge.
Only two adolescent boys have also taken the plunge. They approach and walk to the flooded part of the floodplain that they think they know just fine from dry times, but then things go wrong. For one boy, the stone-cold water runs into his boots. They come running back shows on the dry part how much water is running out of his boots and quickly goes home with his faithful friend. It was a fun scene. This had to go wrong. Hence, I took a picture of the two of them.
