Ambient field. Calm background ambiance of a cold spring morning on the edge of a Dutch village and the farming fields/polder. (Netherlands/ Holland).

Do you hear them singing? #0:50 The Lapwing, the #0:39 White Wagtail and the Skylark throughout the recording.
The exuberant song of the skylark can be heard from a great height in the spring. The males make spectacular singing flights. First they climb to a height of sometimes more than a hundred meters, after which they fly down, singing loudly, to land near the female. Unfortunately, the skylark is doing very poorly in the Netherlands. Since 1960, numbers have declined by 95%. One cause is, among other things, the increase in intensive agriculture.
You can also hear the sheep and lambs further away on the farm.

Location information; On the left in the west, about 3 km away, are the bridges over the busy Holland Diep river. At 1 km a road runs through the polder and behind the house there is a cobblestone road that does not have much traffic.
On the right is the farm of a large busy hobby farmer. You hear the sheep.
