Ambiance of the Dutch river Amer and Merwede with a park along it with a pedestrian path where people walk and enjoy the view. In front of the river there is a reed bed with pollard willows at a distance of approximately 25 to 50 meters. Boats with outboard motors sail on the river. Small waves sometimes hit the rocky breakwater.
I hadn't heard this one before: A woman wondered what that red cabbage was doing there (my microphones in a blimp). When I told another woman that I was making an audio recording with it, she smiled and said that she didn't want it on the recording. She said it with so much laughter in her voice that I posted it anyway. (-0
In Lage-Zwaluwe on the edge of the river Amer, Merwede and Hollands Diep, next to a residential area, there is a small park with a view of the enormous river delta. Between the river and the park there are also reed beds with many birds. It's where my stuff is set up.
more information about the memorial linie-crossers on the picture
The Monument commemorates the line crossings that took place at the end of the Second World War between the occupied north and liberated south of the Netherlands.
After the battle for the southern part of the Netherlands at the end of 1944, the northern part of the Netherlands remained occupied for a long time. The Germans patrolled the river Merwede, which separated the south from the north, but preferred not to venture into the Biesbosch. This dangerous area was therefore the most suitable way to go from occupied to liberated territory and vice versa. The Albrecht Group provided the connection. Later a number of men came together to set up the connections between the liberated area and the occupied area. The Line Crossers Group consisted of 21 men from Sliedrecht, Werkendam, Sleeuwijk, Lage Zwaluwe, Waalwijk, Dordrecht & Hardinxveld Giessendam. In total, approximately 374 crossings were made, between Sliedrecht & Lage Zwaluwe and Werkendam & Drimmelen
