City marina Heusden Netherlands at spring.

The few ships that cross the river in distance, it seems, are empty. They are too high on the water to be economically viable. Covid-19 exacts its first financial pain.

A buzzard explores from the air the headland that has not been visited by people for weeks.

To the left is a small shipyard where a boat is launched. It is a "tjalk", an old cargo boat from the beginning of the last century. Another empty ship across the river.

An old man walks over the city wall of this old fortress with his soul under his arm. He has also been locked up for weeks and is now taking a short walk. Here, too, it is a time of short talks more than a human distance away.
It all seems so peaceful here, but it also seems like war. The motto is to stay indoors.

The Tjalk is in the water now and the tractor that transported the ship leaves.
A grebe and a coot audibly quarrel.
In the north, cars drive over the river dike. You don't hear them because the wind is blowing from the south. This makes the film even more surrealist.

After the carillon has played for the second time I stop the sound recording. I am looking forward to coffee and it is nowhere to be found here in days. Everything is closed.

Strengthened by today's sound recordings, I am going home again. Luctor et emergo, in the most beautiful spring since ages. Let the sun shine!!!!
