Quiet Sunday morning in the city center in May in corona-times.
Sunday morning 8 am at the foot of the "De Groote Stroom", a small river in the city center of the corona-infected city of 's-Hertogenbosch in the south of the Netherlands. De Groote Stroom is part of the inner-city-river Binnendieze.
As you can see in the pictures, this is a wonderful place in my beautiful city. The Venice of the North is called. It will now also be very quiet in Venice.
People are still asleep. There is remarkably little traffic in this city center. The great tit sings its bicycle pump song. The finch and the wood pigeon fill in with their tune. In the distance I hear a Great Spotted Woodpecker hammering on a tree. After five minutes I hear the first car pass by. Normally the cars drive on and off.
It is noticeable that there has been a bit more flying in recent days. They won't get me on a plane now.
The finch and the blackbird also sing. Or if it is not the blackbird but the garden warbler, who knows may say it.
The great spotted woodpecker comes to see if he can pull the hair out of my furry windshield for his nest. He looks really interested, but when he sees me coming from behind the tree, he flies away.
