My equipment today stands 5 meter from the river Maas in the Netherlands.

At the beginning and at the end of the recording is calm. In between; many container ships, tugs, yachts, freighters pass, sometimes just on 30 meter. Beautiful, the lapping of the waves against the rock-side!
In the background are the birds heard.
Lovely the cuckoo in the distance. The shore has a rock dike. You hear the water splash between the stone sometimes. Across the river shows a woman walking her dog. He barks occasionally. Even if the ships are far away you can hear the pounding of the engines. To the right is a railway bridge over the river. If the wind changes you'll hear him. The traffic on the other bridge is sometimes audible. The blackbird, warbler, duck, pheasant are many more birds heard. And insects naturally on this first day of summer. The wind is weak and comes from all directions. Do not be alarmed by the air raid after 30 minutes. It's just a monthly exercise. Then the church bells ring long in the distance. The world has a happy couple again :-) Sometimes you hear people on the other side.
The Meuse (Maas) river is a part of the great rivers that runs through our country. I'm at a crossroads of waterways. The main river, and opening to a lock (see picture 'view right').
I hope you can appreciate the ambience of this long recording.

Nice. Like the recording. Im listening at work. From my window I can see ships on Göta Älv (Gothenburg):-)
