Dawn chorus and sunrise in a Filipino suburbs.
I made this recording at about 5:30AM, from the terrace of a house located at Santa Monica Heights, which is a costal residential area near Calapan city (oriental Mindoro, Philippines).
One can hear the atmosphere of this place during sunrise, with some crickets, dawn chorus from local birds, roosters in the distance, dogs barking, cicadas waking up, some human voices and activities, some vehicles passing by, as well as some distant fishermen’s motorboats and traffic. At #29:56, the bell of the nearby church starts ringing.
Recorded in August 2025 with a Zoom H6essential (built-in XY microphones).
Fade in/out applied in Audacity.
