Hundreds of flying foxes (probably ‘acerodon jubatus’) at Puerto Galera. (take 2)
I made this recording at dusk, in Puerto Galera (Oriental Mindoro, Philippines) while hundreds (maybe thousands ?) flying foxes were screaming and starting to fly.
In the background, one can hear the hum from the town, and some human voices.
Recorded in July 2025 with a Zoom H5studio (built-in XY microphones).
Fade in/out applied in Audacity.

I see what you mean about the snake ! I remember having a big python (as big as my tigh) on my shoulders when I went in Vietnam for the first time, and I have been very surprised about its texture ! ;-

It reminds me of my elementary school days in the sixties: back then, circus people would sometimes come to the school. The man also had a ‘flying dog’, as we called the bat. He also had a huge constrictor with him, and I had it around my neck. Since then, I've known that snakes aren't smooth, even though they look like they are.
