Dawn chorus and light rain at sunrise in a Filipino suburb.
I made this recording at about 5:15AM, from the terrace of a house located at Santa Monica Heights, which is a costal residential area near Calapan city (oriental Mindoro, Philippines).
One can hear the atmosphere of this place at sunrise, with some crickets, dawn chorus from local birds that I don’t know, roosters and dogs barking in the distance, as well as some distant fishermen’s motorboats. At #6:46, the cicadas start to make their noise, and at #11:35, the bell from the nearby church will start to ring while big dark clouds and light rain are approaching, forcing me to stop the recorder before it will become too wet ! ;-) .
Recorded in July 2025 with a Zoom H6essential (built-in XY microphones).
