Dawn chorus and sunrise in a Filipino suburb.
I made this recording at about 5:15AM, from the terrace of a house located at Santa Monica Heights, which is a costal residential area near Calapan city (oriental Mindoro, Philippines).
One can hear the atmosphere of this place during sunrise, with some crickets, dawn chorus from local birds that I don’t know, roosters and dogs in the distance, distant traffic hum, and few vehicles passing by in the surroundings. At #11:45, one can hear cicadas starting their noise, and at #17:17, the bell from the nearby church starts ringing.
Recorded in July 2025 with a Zoom H6essential (built-in XY microphones).
Fade in/out applied in Audacity.

Yes, I didn’t cut anything in the recording ! There, it’s amazing how quick you pass from night to day in just a few minutes !
