Every late fall Benedictine College a few blocks from my apartment holds their anual bed races. This time the beds didn't go by my place, but the finish line was just up the street to the north. A large crowd is there cheering as beds straggle in as others run and walk up and down the street in front of me, some having just completed the race and discussing how they did. A few noisy cars or motor cycles go by as well as a flat bed truck which some college kids get off of and a golf cart goes by as well with its electric hum..
