Music scores and ensembles: Multi species Akirin DNA coding sequences translated into music
The algorithm used to translate DNA coding sequences into music was as previously reported (Riego E, Silva A, de la Fuente J. 1995. The sound of the DNA language. Biol. Res. 28, 197-204), except that each codon was metrically equivalent to a bar and had a differentiated rhythmic and melodic character. Using this approach, musical scores were prepared for DNA sequences of Akirin/Subolesin (AKR/SUB) derived from different species. Musical ensembles support that AKR in different species are evolutionarily related and structurally conserved.
