This is a song based on this speech clip http://freesound.org/people/xserra/sounds/317745/ which is attributed to user xserra. This clip is heard unaltered at the beginning of the song.
Segments of the speech were isolated and transformed using techniques learned in the Coursera course "Audio Signal Processing for Music Applications". Pitch was altered to get particular notes and timing was altered for effect. The pieces were assembled and output with Audacity. A reverb effect was applied just to make it all sound better but for the assignment I provided a version with only pitch and time stretching in compliance with the rules of the assignment.
I don't speak Catalan (nor Spanish) so I wonder if the lyrics make any sense at all :)

This is really very cool and creative. I did mine using La Vaca Cega as well. I absolutely love Eva Serra's voice. Now I want to do a whole album with her reading various classic Catalan peoms.
(BTW, just posted mine, "La_Vaca_Cega," but it's currently being moderated.)

Oh, its Catalan? I just assumed it was Spanish. Thanks. Also, thanks everyone for the kind words. It was fun to do.

Actually it's not spanish, it's Catalan (original poem here https://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_vaca_cega). I don't speak Catalan but I speak a little spanish and from a spanish translation here https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_vaca_ciega, I gather the phrase means something like "in the other [eye] of the cow a blindfold was put, so the cow is now blind".
