This is a recording of dripping into a munitions store in the abandoned WWII Italian military installation on Mont Chaberton in the French Alps (the border moved after the war).
The location is on the summit at 3,131 m and there is still snow and ice in the interiors, even in July when this was recorded. The combination of snow, ice, flooded interiors and simply getting to the location made this a difficult recording.
I made two recordings: this one with a close perspective on some individual drips (about 10 cm away from the nearest drip), and one which is a more general perspective (https://freesound.org/people/iainmccurdy/sounds/816061/).
Recording was made with a pair of Primo EM272s into a Zoom F3.
