Audio of an AR-15 with a carbon fiber receiver being cocked. I don't recall the make. May require some trimming and buffing. I think I recorded this with an AKG Perception 200 using Cool Edit -- and I did it to get my room-mate to leave (after we recorded the sounds of several of his guns and a sword . . .).

Thank you sir. I'm making a dry gunshot for an M4-Carbine without reverb and I realized it didn't sound quite right with only the explosive bass and treble noise and the initial bass note and the barrel rattling. Then I realized what was missing after listening to a gunshot from Battlefield 3. The gun chambers a new round after .075 seconds. Well, now that I've finished with the dry sound for it, now I've got to make it reverberate which should prove difficult. I've found that the Gverb tool in Audacity is far too metallic, and the delay and echo tools are far too dry sounding.
